Dispute Resolution Policy
Effective Date: March 2, 2026
DRAFT — This document has been prepared for operational use and will be reviewed by legal counsel. It does not constitute legal advice.
1. Overview
ZT Pros LLC ("ZT Pros") is a technology platform that connects customers with independent, licensed contractors ("Service Providers"). Because ZT Pros does not perform, supervise, or control any work, disputes about the quality, scope, cost, or completion of home services are between the customer and the Service Provider.
However, we understand that disputes can arise, and we want to help. This Dispute Resolution Policy describes the courtesy mediation assistance that ZT Pros may offer and the steps you can take to resolve issues.
IMPORTANT: ZT Pros is not a party to any contract between a customer and a Service Provider. ZT Pros does not act as an arbitrator, judge, or decision-maker in disputes. Any mediation assistance offered by ZT Pros is a courtesy service provided at our sole discretion and does not create any legal obligation, liability, or responsibility on the part of ZT Pros.
2. Types of Disputes
2.1 Disputes Between Customers and Service Providers
These include disagreements about:
- Quality of work performed
- Scope of work (what was agreed vs. what was delivered)
- Pricing and payment (final cost vs. quoted price)
- Timeliness (delays, missed deadlines)
- Property damage during work
- Incomplete or abandoned work
- Communication issues
These disputes are between you and the Service Provider. ZT Pros may offer courtesy mediation assistance but is not responsible for resolving these disputes and assumes no liability for the outcome.
2.2 Disputes Between Users and ZT Pros
These include disagreements about:
- Platform functionality or access
- Referral fees or payment disputes
- Account suspension or termination
- Privacy or data handling
These disputes are governed by the arbitration provisions in our Terms of Service (Section 12).
3. Steps to Resolve a Customer–Service Provider Dispute
If you have a dispute with a Service Provider matched through the Platform, we recommend the following steps:
Step 1: Communicate Directly
Contact the Service Provider directly to discuss the issue. Many disputes can be resolved through clear, professional communication. Document all communications in writing (text, email) for your records.
Step 2: Document the Issue
Take photos and videos of any work quality issues. Keep copies of all quotes, invoices, contracts, and communications. Note dates, times, and specific details of the problem.
Step 3: Request ZT Pros Courtesy Mediation
If direct communication does not resolve the issue, you may contact ZT Pros to request courtesy mediation assistance. Contact us at [email protected] or through the Platform's feedback system. We will review the situation and, at our sole discretion, may attempt to facilitate a resolution between you and the Service Provider.
Step 4: Contact the Service Provider's Insurance
If the dispute involves property damage or injury, contact the Service Provider's insurance company directly. Service Providers on the ZT Pros platform are required to carry general liability insurance. You can request the Service Provider's insurance information through the Platform.
Step 5: File a Complaint with Licensing Authorities
If the Service Provider has violated licensing requirements or building codes, you may file a complaint with your state's contractor licensing board or local building department.
Step 6: Seek Legal Remedies
If the dispute cannot be resolved through the above steps, you may pursue legal remedies including small claims court, mediation through a third-party mediator, or other legal action against the Service Provider. ZT Pros is not a party to such proceedings.
4. ZT Pros's Courtesy Mediation Process
When ZT Pros agrees to provide courtesy mediation assistance, the process may include:
- Review: We review the information provided by both parties, including communications, photos, quotes, and any other relevant documentation.
- Outreach: We contact both parties to understand their perspectives and identify potential solutions.
- Facilitation: We may suggest potential resolutions, facilitate communication between the parties, or recommend next steps.
- Documentation: We document the mediation process and outcome for our records.
Important Limitations: ZT Pros's courtesy mediation is not binding arbitration. ZT Pros does not have the authority to compel either party to take any action. ZT Pros does not make legal determinations about fault, liability, or damages. ZT Pros's mediation assistance does not create any legal obligation, warranty, or liability on the part of ZT Pros. ZT Pros may decline to provide mediation assistance at any time and for any reason.
5. Platform Actions ZT Pros May Take
Based on the outcome of a dispute or pattern of complaints, ZT Pros may, at its sole discretion, take the following actions regarding a Service Provider:
- Issue a warning to the Service Provider
- Reduce the Service Provider's trust score or ranking on the Platform
- Temporarily suspend the Service Provider's access to new referrals
- Permanently remove the Service Provider from the Platform
- Report the Service Provider to relevant licensing authorities if warranted
These actions are taken to maintain the quality of the Platform and do not constitute a determination of fault or liability. ZT Pros's decision to take or not take any action does not create any liability on the part of ZT Pros.
6. Deposit and Payment Disputes
Because customers pay Service Providers directly, payment disputes are between the customer and the Service Provider. However, if you have a payment-related concern:
- Contact the Service Provider first to attempt to resolve the issue directly
- If unresolved, contact ZT Pros at [email protected] with documentation of the issue
- ZT Pros may, at its sole discretion, assist in facilitating a refund through the payment processor
- You may also contact your credit card company or bank to initiate a chargeback, subject to their policies
- Refund decisions are not guaranteed and depend on the specific circumstances of each case
7. Reviews and Ratings
After a job is completed, you will be invited to leave a review and rating for the Service Provider. Reviews are an important part of maintaining quality on the Platform. We ask that you:
- Leave honest and accurate reviews based on your actual experience
- Focus on facts rather than emotions
- Do not use reviews to threaten, harass, or extort Service Providers
- Do not leave false or misleading reviews
ZT Pros reserves the right to remove reviews that violate our content policies, but does not edit or alter the substance of legitimate reviews.
8. Limitation of Liability
ZT PROS'S PROVISION OF COURTESY MEDIATION ASSISTANCE DOES NOT CREATE ANY WARRANTY, GUARANTEE, OR LIABILITY ON THE PART OF ZT PROS. ZT PROS IS NOT LIABLE FOR THE OUTCOME OF ANY DISPUTE BETWEEN A CUSTOMER AND A SERVICE PROVIDER, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER ZT PROS PROVIDED MEDIATION ASSISTANCE.
For complete limitation of liability terms, see our Terms of Service (Section 10).
